Iron Trail
The Change
Tracks are on the picture. Is identity good enough to trust?
Mission-support data can stay in use while friendly identity is not sound.
DEMONSTRATION CONCEPT
This is a demonstration concept. It is not a live demonstration and does not report an executed result.
The situation
The surveillance picture is populated. Friendly aircraft are expected in the same airspace.
Tracks remain. Identity quality does not.
Why this is hard
A full picture can still be unsafe. V8Y must tell an identity-quality failure from a transport loss, a configuration change, or a picture-wide failure.
A configuration rollback should not count unless that distinction says the configuration is what failed.
What the operator can see
- NormalTracks and identity
- VisibleTrust is unclear
- At riskUntrusted identity
What V8Y must determine
V8Y must distinguish an identity-quality failure from a transport, configuration, or picture-wide failure while tracks remain present, and keep mission-support use of that identity constrained until it can be trusted.
What may happen next
Mission-support use of unsound identity continues if that constraint is not in place.
What counts as recovery
Not recovery
Success is not a restored configuration.
Recovery
Success is that mission-support use waits while identity is unhealthy, and the wait lifts only after identity is sound.
Observed results
No executed results are published for this thread.
What this evaluation would test
- Identity quality distinguished from transport, configuration, and a dead picture.
- Mission-support use held until identity can be trusted.
- Recovery judged on the identity constraint, not on the picture’s population.
These are the conditions the evaluation would test. They are not reported results.
