Forge Markets — failures hidden in everyday trading actions.
A synthetic trading desk where bulk orders, analytics, deploys, chart loads, and audits can trigger controlled failures — so you can watch V8Y close the loop on a commercial-looking estate.
The problem
Production-looking actions, estate-breaking side effects
Forge Markets looks like a real trading desk: watchlist, orders, charts, profile. The failures are not a lab console — they hide inside normal clicks: bulk order execution, portfolio analytics, a bot deploy, a heavy chart load, a full audit export.
Each action can push the estate into a different failure mode — crash loop, memory pressure, bad deploy, fat payload, disk full — while the UI still looks like a trading product. The operator’s job is to run the desk; the platform’s job is to catch what breaks underneath.
The solution
What V8Y does in Forge Markets
Forge Markets runs V8Y’s commercial-style loop: sense → think → act → verify.
- Sense — metrics and scenario signals surface as incidents on the platform.
- Think — diagnosis and a proposed fix land before the operator digs through logs.
- Act & verify — some scenarios remediate autonomously; others wait for Apply Fix. Verification closes the loop when metrics return to baseline.
Motion follows up in a dedicated Forge Markets workspace — ownership and channels for the SRE roster, separate from the mission estates.
Boundary
What this demo proves — and does not
Forge Markets is a synthetic evaluation estate for V8Y’s detect-to-verify loop on a trading-platform-style application. It demonstrates controlled failure and recovery against this PoC contract — not performance on a real brokerage or market infrastructure.
