Mission

Mission Cloud

A multi-tenant mission-computing setting where a surge, a query, a release, a historical load, or an audit stream can stall work that did not cause it.

One neighbor, query, or release takes down everyone else.

Demonstration scenarios

All five threads are demonstration scenarios in a mission-system setting. They are not live demos, and they are not presented as documented Air Force incidents.

Operational challenge

Tenants share paths and stores. An approved release can injure every receiver that got it. A historical job can put the same pressure on a store as an analytics query. An audit stream is different, because its record still has to exist when production recovers. These are documented commercial failures, shown in a mission-system setting. They are not claimed as Air Force incidents.

What V8Y is being tested on

V8Y must identify which shared resource is saturated or which release is spreading, keep the record that must survive, and prove the other mission work recovered.

Threads

  1. Order Overload

    DEMONSTRATION SCENARIO

Co-tenants keep seeing errors until the right pool is limited.

Many tenants see latency and errors. One of them may be the surge.

  2. Analytics Overload

    DEMONSTRATION SCENARIO

Transaction errors continue until the workload holding the store is identified.

Live transactions fail while a heavy query is a possible cause.

  3. Bad Release

    DEMONSTRATION SCENARIO

Mission functions that have already taken the release fail, and the ones that have not are next.

An approved mission release starts failing the systems that received it.

  4. Historical Data Load

    DEMONSTRATION SCENARIO

Live transactions stay down until the workload holding the store is identified.

A historical job is running. Live transactions are what fail.

  5. Compliance Audit Export

    DEMONSTRATION SCENARIO

Either the production requirement or the audit record breaks if the stream is handled like disposable load.

Production stalls. The audit record still has to stay complete.

Mission proof

Stopping the wrong workload, or dropping a required audit trail, is not recovery. Co-tenants, live transactions, and a complete audit have to meet the requirement that applies.

Applicability

Laboratory and program teams who share mission computing, and acquisition staff comparing a demonstration with an operational bottleneck.
